Dr. V. Prasannakumar has been awarded the Kerala Science Literature Award - 2019 for the book പ്രകൃതിക്ഷോഭങ്ങളും കേരളവും (Natural Disasters and Kerala) in the "Popular Science" category. The award was presented during the inaugural ceremony of the 33rd Kerala Science Congress, presided over by the Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala on the 30th of January 2021.
